
Emily Joof
The author Emily Joof, born in 1984, works as a Global Education Technical Advisor at Save the Children. She has previously written several children’s books with a focus on inclusion and diversity, from an afro diasporan perspective. The Big Blue is her first book at Rabén & Sjogren, with illustrations by Matilda Ruta.
Emily Joof has throughout her career had a special focus on children and young people from vulnerable groups. She is a strong voice in the debate about Inclusion in children’s literature in Sweden. Emily is also a multicultural mother to two young children who has inspired her writing. She has lived in five countries and speaks as many languages. She loves thunderstorms and belly laughs.
