The best-selling writer Pia Hagmar has written more than sixty books. Many of them are about the friendship and loyalty between people and horses. Her style is warm, humorous, and charming, and she writes both for those beginning to read by themselves as well as for slightly older children. The books about Saga, a little girl who loves horses, are published in capital letters for beginner readers, while the Flisan series is also written in a simple language and published in a larger font size. The series of books about Svante the Shetland Pony, Julia, who wants to be appreciated, Klara, whose love of riding contrasts with the difficulties she has in her family, and the Dalsland Detective books are more suitable for children in the six- to-nine-year-old age group. The Millan books are written for twelve-to-fifteen-year-olds.
“The book about Svante is fun and easy to read. Discovering that he is a real life pony makes the story even better.”
