“To me, Christmas eve is a strange day. You just walk around waiting all day long. Gunnar and I sneaked into the living room and squeezed the parcels in the laundry basket, where all the Christmas gifts were lying.”
This is the story of a Christmas long ago – to be more precise in the year 1913, when Astrid Lindgren was only six years old. She tells about the magic, the expectations and all the fun she had. The text has been published in the collection of stories A Christmas when I was a Child (Rabén & Sjögren 1993). Now it is published as a picture book for the first time, with illustrations by the well known illustrator Cecilia Heikkilä.
