Astrid is about to start third grade and looks forward to seeing her best friend Maryam again. They have not seen each other all summer. But Maryam has changed. She is wearing a lot of makeup and she barely says anything the entire way to school. And when they get there she abandons Astrid to be with Elly instead. The chair next to hers is empty. Until one day when a new boy joins their class. His name is Amir. When he asks Astrid to be his companion in a newly started spy organization, it’s impossible to say no. Now they just have to find something to spy on.
